Project Background
Modern Thakali Restaurant Interior Design
It was a Thakali restaurant located near the Swayambhunath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The restaurant specialized in serving the traditional Thakali Khana set, a popular cuisine in Nepal. It represented the rich Thakali culture, originating from the Thakali community of Thak Khola, Mustang, in the Himalayas. Our design aimed to replicate their cultural essence while integrating modern and functional elements to create a comfortable dining space.
Floor Plan
When we took on this project, the space was empty and disorganized, requiring a well-structured floor plan to optimize functionality and efficiency. Our design included a spacious kitchen capable of preparing meals for up to 120 people simultaneously, ensuring smooth operations. We strategically allocated areas for a staff room, an accounting office, a storage room, and separate male and female restrooms. Additionally, we incorporated a private VIP cabin for exclusive dining experiences.
